STAY-CHARP RIGOR REVIEWS

Do you want a genuine, detailed, and highly expanded review of your published book or story? My Rigor Reviews will dissect your story on an editorial level, offering only the most authentic constructive criticism and encouragement. I will read your book or short work, rate and review it on Amazon/Goodreads, and provide you a private write-up addressing all major elements of the story that my Developmental Editing service does.

Please note that I do not guarantee positive reviews. I will ask if you want me to review your work if I cannot rate it three stars or higher. What I do promise is to highlight your story’s strengths and offer methods of improvement.

Price: $50 per book (50K—150K words) OR a book exchange in which you provide a similar review for one of my books. Short stories (300—10K words) cost $10.

REVIEW POLICY & RATINGS:

  • Realistic fiction

  • Psychological horror

  • Thrillers

  • Christian fiction

Genres I DO NOT accept:

  • Erotica

  • Slasher horror

  • Non-fiction (excluding Godzilla material)

  • Satanic content

RATINGS:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ = one of the best books I’ve ever read. (This is not awarded lightly.)

⭐⭐⭐⭐ = an enjoyable and engaging book with minimal flaws.

⭐⭐⭐ = an enjoyable book with notable flaws.

⭐⭐ = a book that did not hold my interest or contains considerable flaws that hindered my reading experience.

⭐ = a book that is poorly written or offensive to the point of being unsalvagable, i.e. this book’s existence causes more harm than good. (This is also not awarded lightly and has thus far only happened once—with a very bad best-seller I bought at the airport.)

I commonly rate books 3 or 4 stars. 3 stars is not a poor rating by my personal scale. It means that I respect the writer’s efforts and appreciate the book’s intentions, but there were some important points it did not succeed in. I am more likely to give this rating to an indie author because their books may not match high-powered industry standards and also to provide them constructive honesty for future improvement.

TESTIMONIALS

FIRST EDITORIAL CLIENT!

Erick Gonzalez, author of An Unbreakable Spirit: The Legend & Legacy of Chico

When I finished this particular writing project that I first dreamed of a few years ago, I knew that something significant had happened in my life. It meant the world to me and I knew it needed to be in the best hands possible. The very first and only name and person that came to mind, was Alyssa. No matter what happens with this book, it’s special and I needed someone equally so to polish it for me.

Alyssa not only polished it, she gave it that last touch of magic that truly gave it life. My manuscript is actual perfection. The time and care she put into it is evident with every letter, sentence and paragraph. I will forever be grateful for the work that she did. Her attention to detail and effort proved that she was the best and only one who could’ve handled this project. She brought Chico and I’s story to life and ready to present to the world. Thank you, Alyssa. From Chico and me.”
